Title of Exhibition: “Birth of a New Artist“
Birth – the start of life as a physically separate being. Well, at least I think I was born again to my artistic side, to inspire me everyday of my life. I feel like I am living with a purpose now that I admitted that I am actually an artist. I have always had this craving to create something out of me. I cook, I bake, I sing, I dance, but to actually create a painting was something that always fascinates me. At this time, I claim, I am an artist, being born to the world to live life to the fullest.
Description of Exhibition: A compilation of a new artist’s love for art.
A couple of years ago, on my birthday month, I attended a Beginner’s Acrylic Painting Course with Kathie Bird at the Prince Albert Art House. I was invited by a good friend, Pat Skauge. Thanks to her, the class thought me how to step out of the scary first attempts of painting. I have always long been fascinated with paintings especially of the Renaissance & want to actually be able to paint like they do. Well, that may seem too far off but that could be my ultimate dream. The past 2 years may seem to have thought me lots, from that first class to attending more classes, some in Michael’s & some painter’s I met online. One awesome painter is Will Kemp, studied in Italy, who I got to learn from furthering my knowledge in painting. Acrylic seems to be the best way to start before I jump into Oils as it is more forgiving, which I think I need more right now as I am starting.
